The weekend is nearly over.
The Boy has gone back down south.
But the ball was absolutely fabulous!
I will update properly once I’ve sorted myself out (so probably tomorrow) but for now I leave you with this. I know it’s got sample splashed across it but you get the general idea!

I hate trying to kill time. My room is uber clean, all my laundry is done, my bed is freshly made and now I’m just twiddling my thumbs. Even the internet can’t provide a respite.
I want him to arrive now dammit!
Only… *does quick calculation* … 8 and 1/2 hours til he gets here. That seems so far away!
Must find stuff to do…

I rarely have fabulous evenings in Durham but tonight was one.
A friend came round, we shared a bottle of wine and then watched Bill Bailey and the Reduced Shakespeare Company.
Sometimes laughing so hard it hurts is a good thing.
On a different note please can you all send happy healthy thoughts in the direction of The Boy? He’s not a well bunny at the mo and I want him to be all better by the time he comes up! So yes, many happy thoughts will be required.
Thanking you in advance…

Bugger bugger bugger bugger…
Having carefully gone up to my limit I knew I’d be fine money wise until the beginning of next month.
I check today and I’m overdrawn past my limit… by £7.
The reason? A cheque I gave somebody last month has only just been paid in. The fucker took me over my limit. Why the hell didn’t he cash it when i gave it to him?! Now I’m gonna have a massive fee to pay!
I have rage, severe rage… and it’s not even my fault *sob*

I’ve been away for a while so as promised what will now follow is a long and rambling post… with pictures! The only problem I have is where to start…
Well, firstly I think I’ll put up a pic as it dates back to hallowe’en:

From left to right we have Famine (Darby), War (myself), Pollution (Cozi-Bean) and Death (Lovely Ben). As was stated at the time of Hallowe’en we were going as the four horsemen of the apocalypse but Good Omens style. I think we looked rather fetching! Please note my wonderful red skirt (which you can’t see enough of). It was pvc, and I made it myself! Go me!
Since I last posted I have seen The Boy for two weekends in a row (bad English I know but I don’t care!) Weekend before last I went down to London and then we disappeared to the country for the weekend. Well I say country, we went down to Wiltshire. It was absolutely stunning. Really old houses and the town itself had a wonderfully homey feel to it. I could’ve quite happily stayed there permanently but unfortunately I had to get back up to Uni. Whilst I was there though he did give me my 6 month anniversary present (which I totally wasn’t expecting!) It’s a gorgeous silver bracelet. 18 silver bands which are joined together at each end by a vertical bar and it has a gap so you can slip it onto your wrist. Not a very good description but I don’t have a digital camera so you’ll just have to make do!
Last weekend I went down to London again. Instead of getting the train I actually got a lift with The Boy’s Flatmate’s girlfriend (confused yet?!) It really was an hysterical journey, especially when we got lost for an hour trying to get in to Cambridge. That city officially didn’t like us, I think it’s because we were all Durhamites.
When we finally got to London we went out for a fabulous dinner down the local and crawled in to bed fairly late. Saturday we were up early and headed down to the train station. It was a tad chilly (to put it mildly) but one of my favourite pictures of me was taken in the station. I thought I’d include it here for your viewing pleasure!

The Boy and I were off to the Natural History Museum to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. It was fabulous, there really are no other words. If you’re around London at all then I suggest you get your arse in gear and go see it! We didn’t have time to do the museum proper but The Boy has promised me that the next time I’m down he’ll take me. I’ll even get a cuddly dinosaur which just rocks! But for now I give you these:

The museum architecture (isn’t it fabulous?!)

Me being dwarfed by the museum (I felt so small!)
Once we’d finished in the exhibition we jumped back on the tube and headed to a wine tasting. Not just any wine tasting though, oh no. This was Virgin Wines first ever National Wine Tasting. 25 tables, 154 wines… you do the math! We arrived and immediately were presented with a glass of champers to start us off. We then got a guide and were able to work our way around all the wines as we saw fit. I tasted so many I lost count. Some were awful but others were like nectar in a glass. And the beautious thing about it was if you liked a wine, you could go back and get a full glass! Bonus! Suffice to say we were a litte worse for wear when we left again:

And that one was taken near the start!
We got back to the flat, had proper proper swiss fondue (which was like heaven in a pot) and then had a bit of a house party.
Sunday had us see in the day with an awesome breakfast of bacon sarnies, croissant, danish pastry and juice and then led to us having a very boozy lunch at this gorgeous place in Pimlico called Grumbles. The food was gorgeous, the company was fabulous and the chat was hysterical. We came out at around 6 and having made my Christmas pudding stir-up wish via the phone, we headed to the pub! As the day had been so long, we decided not to drive up again til Monday so The Boy and I headed back to the flat and curled up to watch the new O.C and also the latest Lost (which was so so so good!!! Damn them and their goodness!)
So Monday we drove back up here, though it was incredibly hard to leave again after such a fabulous weekend. It’s not all bad though. I just have to kill time til Friday night when The Boy arrives. He’s coming up for the ball and I’m so excited! It really is going to be something special. If he remembers to bring his camera with him then you may even get some pictures of us both dressed in our finery, but I’m not promising anything ![]()
Phew, that was a ramble! I knew there was a lot to be said but even so, my fingers are starting to hurt now! At least it’s kept me busy. I should really go and do some work but before I do I shall tell you what’s hiding in the extended entry. It is a fabulous parody/review/filmockery of the new Goblet of Fire movie. If you haven’t seen it then it may well contain spoilers but if you’ve read the book then it shouldn’t matter!
So yes, I shall leave you with that.
Until I post again my loves,
AxXx

November 8, 2005
My to do list is getting ever bigger.
Not only do I have a small mountain of papers to read and make notes on but I’m also supposed to be finding the time to look over bar applications and create cocktails. What kind of girl do they take me for?! It’s too much I say… too much! Ok, so it’s not that bad in the grand scheme of things but still, I seem to have far too much to do and not enough time to do it in. I will definitely be taking some with me this weekend. Who knows, I might even get The Boy to help me look over applications ![]()
I have finished one piece of work already though, which is fantabulous. I get to cross it off the list and make the bottom creep ever closer to the edge of my desk. I also need to tidy my room. It’s starting to irritate me so it’s got to be done. I think an evening of happy bouncy music, room tidying and then bath could be in order. I just wish i had some cheese (to eat that is)… or wine, or anything delecatble really. Dammit.
On a completely different note, I gave blood for the first time ever today. I was quite proud of myself. I’ve been determined to give blood ever since I first went with my mum but I’ve never been able to so far. I’ve either had my body modified in some way or had a coldsore, or just a cold. But today was the day. It was over really quickly too. I have speedy blood. I was done inabout 4 minutes which apparently is very impressive… and a little scary. Afterwards I got my cup of nasty flavour juice and yummy biscuits and had to sit there in case I did anything silly like pass out. I didn’t though. I also got a voucher for Ben & Jerry’s Ice cream as a thankyou. You give a pint of blood, you earn a pint of ice cream! Bonus! Me thinks it will have to wait til after the diet though. There’s time yet.
Today also marks my 6 month anniversary with The Boy. It’s all very exciting! Can’t quite believe we’ve made it this far but I’m very glad we have. I get to see him this Thursday (yay!) and we’ve also booked to go away in February which has gotten me so bouncy it’s unbelievable! I’ll update you on that one closer to the time though.
Right. I have a bottle of beer, some decent music and a mountain of laundry to put away.
Wish me luck!

November 3, 2005
I went to check my e-mail today (as you do) and got very excited by the prospect of somebody offering me a massive courgette distribution. It was only after I blinked and looked again that I realised what I’d taken to be an offer of delectable vegetable goodness was in fact offering me a car… of the corvette variety. Oops! Well, it was an easy mistake to make.
So now we’ve moved into November. It’s stopped raining quite so much but it is now permanently cold. That’ll teach me to move to the northeast i guess. But I can cope, I’m sturdy.
Tonight is yet another formal. Well we do have them twice a week. This one is slightly different though as it’s silly hat formal. Yes, you have to go to dinner in smart clothing, gown and a silly hat. Having said that any hat would look rather ridiculous with a gown, just look at mortar boards! It should be fun tho, I’m rather looking forward to it.
Speaking of formal, I went on Tuesday. It was a sedate dinner, it’s just the actions afterwards that weren’t quite so quiet! I ended up changing into a bunny girl outfit to celebrate a friends birthday. I lost count of the number of times I had my tail squeezed… cheeky blighters. It was really good fun though, even if i was a little abusive to the barman due to his lack of shot expertise. Well I can’t help being an alcohol perfectionist can i? I kept having to buy another one so he could practice… not an advisable plan boys and girls. I ended up walking home in the pouring rain with no shoes on due to them being heels and me being incapable of wearing them anymore. Like I said, a good night ![]()
Hopefully tonight I will retain my footwear.
I have more to say but I’ll say it at a later date as right now I’m going to take a nap. One week til I see my boy! yay!!!
