Flickr Goodness

Ok, so I’m getting the hang of using a digital camera and as such I’ve uploaded a few pics on to flickr and you can go see them here… but only if you want to. I’m not going to force you or anything.

A Few Breakfast Questions…

Today at breakfast we were discussing the reclusive beast that is the haggis. 4 legged creatures they live on the mountains in Scotland and wander round, lonely, in endless circles due to one side of their body having longer legs than the other. Every so often they will happen across another of these mysterious beings, mate, and be on their way. We were left with a few questions though…

1) What happens once a Haggis reaches the top of the mountain?
2) Can they actually go backwards or has perpetual motion cursed them with ever going forwards?
3) When is open season on hunting Haggis?
4) How wxactly do you hunt Haggis?

finally, we have a herd of cows, a flock of sheep but 5) what is the collective noun for Haggis?

We must know! You’re help will be most appreciated :)

My evening summed up…

I met Bella for dinner

We had so much good food

We went back to Hatfield for drinks

We met up with Hoops for more drinks

We went to Klute

Had a wicked night and ended up talking to some random Welsh bloke

It was awesome, I’m more drunk than I thought I was and I somehow ended up in profit… rock on!

Sometimes I just love my life… yas. Just wish The Boy could’ve been here.

More when I’m sober…

Roll up, roll up…

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking recently, hence the silence around here. Being back at uni gives me the perfect excuse to think about things other than my degree.

I’ve been contemplating various things, some good, some bad, some that had me crying for no apparent reason… but one thing I haven’t done is pour it all out on to here. And that’s because I couldn’t bring myself to do it.

This space no longer feels like it’s my own. Originally it was somewhere I could come and moan, cry, gush, generally get it out of my system. Now though I have to be incredibly guarded about what I say and how I say it. I can’t make a flippant post as it may be taken the wrong way. I’m no longer able to explain exactly what’s going on in my head for fear that somebody might read it and use it against me.

My sanctuary of an online form of therapy appears to have vanished, and I’m back out in the open. All the walls have been pulled down around me, walls that were always fairly dodgy to start with.

And you know what? It kinda scares me. It’s like walking on a tightrope with no safety net. Not only is there no net but the people who should have put it up have buggered off to the other side of the big top to have a brew and a chat with the clowns. All that’s left is the bright spotlight that’s pinned on me, and the shadowed faces of an audience that I have become more and more aware of.

I don’t want to walk that rope, not by myself, not yet. But I have my toe on the edge, and slowly, in time, I will make it across.

I just don’t know how.

Guess what I managed to miss in the mail?

Yeh, I checked my calendar and realised that my second anniversary had sneakily passed by, with not even an evil giggle to let me know about it.

So yeh, Lemurgirl is 2 years old (and a bit… but we’ll let that one slide).

Just thought I’d share the love.

mmm… love sharing… there ought to be cake…

Take Me Back To Durham City…

So I’m now back in Durham, ready to face what the world wants to throw at me, bright eyed, bushy tailed and shiny new haircut-ed (it works, trust me on this!)

I’m not too sure how I’m going to cope this term. It’s all going to get a little hectic. But I do know that The Boy will be there for me whether or not I have a nervous breakdown.

For now though, that is another day away. I’m going to sit on my bed, have a cup of tea, and read a book.

Tomorrow the real world starts again.

I’m on an airbed in the lounge of the flat and I can’t sleep.

At all.

Not one wink.

Nuff said really.

January 5, 2006

Look everybody… an update! (spelt mostly correctly too!)

Right, this has been a long time coming. I just really suck at finding the time to actually sit down and type stuff.

I have time now though, so it’s all good. I’m currently sat on the couch in the boys flat (woo!) and the wireless network they have here allows me to do many wonderful things in the world of the internet.

Question is, where to start? I got back to Jersey and almost immediately started working down at my local again. It was a little weird being there again but it was good fun. Not so much hard work but nice easy money.

Christmas, as always, was a family affair. The day was a very relaxed affair, with lots of drink and even more food. We had roast lamb for dinner which was absolutely stunning and I think we all ate far far far too much! But it was Christmas, had to be done. The evening was spent round a friends house, drinking even more and playing silly games. muchly fun.

The time between boxing day and new years was spent mostly relaxing and working behind the bar. New years eve itself I worked. It was hugely busy but so much fun. The fireworks were specatacular and everybody had a really good time… myself included.

The holiday seemed to go far too quickly, especially when we discovered I was flying back a day earlier than i thought I was… oops! The hair appointment was hastily cancelled and remade for Durham.

The only other wonderful highlight of my holiday (apart from the wonder that was Christmas) was spending the whole day at the cinema with my mummy. We watched 3 films in one day, The Producers, Harry Potter (again for me) and then Narnia. All 3 were fantastic and it was a great day for me and my mummy. Proper girly quality time.

But now I’m back in England, with my boy, which is just fabulous :) We’re spending the weekend down in Devon and then after that, who knows? But I will try and keep this thing updated more often.

Oh and if anybody was wondering, I didn’t make any New years resolutions, more of a promise to myself. But I’m not going to tell you what that is :P

What do you want from me?!

I suck at udpating this thing at the moment… but then I have been rather busy.

To sum up, Christmas was fab, New Years was raucous and my feet hurt from being at work.

A more in depth post will follow just as soon as I can focus again. Give it a few days…
